    Chelsea Vs. Fulham

    CHELSEA Vs. FULHAM
    21ST SEPT 2011
    STAMFORD BRIDGE K.O 19:45 GMT

    $this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://www.chelseafc.com/javaImages/63/48/0,,10268~3688547,00.jpg')

This is a while away but i thought i would start it now.
Chelsea are playing at home in the carling cup third round (in which we are a higher rank seed so we automatically start here) against Fulham our west london rivals.

Honestly this season i am hoping we dont take this competition to seriously and let the future stars stretch their legs.

im hoping for Lukaku, Bertrand, McEachran, Romeu etc to be playing every game in this competition.

Am feeling confident for this one so my prediction is:

    Chelsea 3 : 1 Fulham

Goalscorers: Sturridge (2) & Lukaku; Maybe Dempsey or Duff for Fulham.

    Post yoor pre-match thoughts here.

Going to be a good match, neighbours?
Yeh, would love to see AVB picking out the youngsters more often like Josh.

    5-1 Chelsea

    Torres x 2, Sturridge x 1, Mata x 1, Drogba x 1(if he plays)
    Dempsey.

I think Torres will show form in this game, just a gut feeling, he needs to prove something now, since he had missed that goal against United.

Romeu won't play much, AVB is playing smartly because they know Barca will buy him back if he is good enough.

Don't know why, just got a feeling that there is going to be a lot of goals.
At times they dominated Man U in possession, their attacking was quite good, but defence was lacking at times.
I think AVB will know what to do now.

    3-0

    Sturridge,Torres and Malouda.

This is how i think we will line up.

    -----------------------------HILARIO-------------------------------------

    FERRIERA------------LUIZ-----------------ALEX-------------BERTRAND

    ---------------------------ROMEU/MIKEL---------------------------------

    ---------MERIELES-----------------------------JOSH---------------------

    -------STURRIDGE------------TORRES-------------MALOUDA----------

I think Mata, Brana and Terry will be rested along with Ramires.
LUKAKU, KALOU and ANELKA might come on later. DROGBA could play if he is ready. AVB might wanna start him in this match so that he can get back to being match fit.

Mansoor, I quite agree with your line up. AVB might rest players.

Maybe Mata will still play though, and probably see Drogba/Lukaku come on for 10-20 mins.

    All the youngsters playing tomorrow.
AVB should play a different line up throughout this Carling cup competition.

Lukaku playing full 90 mins, but then he might be subbed for Drogba in the closing minutes, or maybe Drogba won't play at all.

Lukaku should start. but i thought TORRES should have been given the run again. He would really try to redeem himself and would have done really well in this match.

Well i wouldnt blame AVB if Drogba or Lukaku play full 90 mins. I think both need some much needed match practice, especially Lukaku.

Fulham managed to draw with the in-form Man City. Martin Jol will give rest to some of this players. I guess Bryan Ruiz is the player to watch from the opponent side.

    my prediction: 2-1 or 3-1

    Final score - 90 min 0-0 + Penalty Shoot outs 4-3

    Impressed with the youths.
Alex bad defending almost cost us the game, he was sent off and then everything chances.
Losing out Sturridge and Cech, as well doesn't make it any better. I could see Mata coming on, but since Sturridge and Cech were both out and Alex. AVB had no choice but to put on JT.

Im proud that we play well with 10 min, despite not scoring.
I had a feeling we would lose the penalty shoot outs as we had Turnbull in goal.

Lampards penalty miss, no comment, at least it was on target.
All the other penalty kicks were quite decent, including Kalou and Malouda.

Kalou's overall performance was not that good.

    We was lucky!

wow what a game. I am proud of the way we played with 10 men. So many shots and scoring chances only we didnt put the final ball through out the match.

Men of the Match : Ryan Bertrand and David Luiz.
Decent Game : Malouda. good job indeed for almost 120 mins.
Disppointing : Lukaku, much more is expected of him soon.

So many positives to take from this game for AVB. he must be overjoyed with the fighting display put on by the team with just 10 men for like 70 mins.JOSH going off was unfortunate, JT had to come as we had no choice. It was a good susbtitution. Maybe he should have taken off Kalou instead..Lukaku could have played alone upfront.Kalou shouldnt have been that selfish. Maybe he wanted to score to prove a point. I think he isnt good enuf for Chelsea but a decent player on his day for any mid table club.

Lukaku is still new to the pacy BPL... we know that. but his attitude is not worth applauding. He needs to up his work rate. He just strolls around. He should see that even Drogba becomes an important defender when defending corners and freekicks. He puts in tackles and fights for the ball. Lukaku should emulate those traits as well. only then we can call him the new Drogba. GOALS? i think he ll score with out any doubt. Its just a matter of time and chances he gets from AVB.

OVERALL . a nice performnce from Chelsea. glad we got thru and thats what matters in the end.

@ mansoorcfc couldn't agree with ya more mate. That is all what matters now>> we played a good game and we are through! =)

I am pretty sure Lukaku will improve in no time. He loves this club. All he requires now is a little bit of proper training...and then i see him right up there achieving his dreams for Chelsea

    - Lukaku's touches were awful. He need to improve quite a lot. People say big target men improve slowly. Maybe its true..
    - McEachran could have scored. (Damn u ! Sturridge). He clearly deserves more game time. I hope he starts against Swansea City.
    - Oriol is fantastic. I feel like he will be replacing Mikel soon.
    - Bertrand was good. I was expecting Ashley Cole-ish stuffs from him.

JOSH should start. There s no way Lamps can play like before. give JOSH a chance and if he falters maybe then he can bring on LAMPS. Please AVB just play JOSH alongwith Raul and Ramires in MF.
